Innkeepers Workshops

 "Life Style Inn Keeping" Workshops

You will learn the techniques to "thrive, not just survive" in a small bed and breakfast enterprise. Unlike a seminar, your objectives will be the only focus. Workshops are available from May through November.

A workshop will involve a full day of discussion. I will have a package of materials to present that will involve virtually every aspect of Bed and Breakfast purchase and operations. We will compare the various types of B&Bs using local examples. Each inn has it's focus: overall style and design, type of rooms and pricing, target clientele, level of service, etc.

We'll spend some time on "A Day in the Life of an Inn Keeper". When we are done you may be even more excited about inn keeping...or not. It's best to find out now if this life is for you!

Ideally, you will be guests of the Morning Glory Inn (not required). If so, we can enjoy an introductory session usually from 4 pm to 6 pm the evening before. We can share some wine and you can help me focus on your greatest concerns. Stay with us, tour the Inn and area. See how we work and live.

Or if you prefer, we can simply meet for a specified amount of time and and delve into a customized discussion of innkeeping. We are flexible.

Also included in your Workshop is follow up consulting which could take the form of another mini-workshop to evaluate a potential purchase. Or we could communicate by email or phone about your progress. Additional consulting to take you to your goal or assist you in the start up phase is available by retainer or an hourly rate.

Our workshop cost is based on the time required and depth of information requested. Inquire for a quote. Lodging packages are available.

What makes this different from other seminars and workshops? We are not realtors. There are many "Aspiring Inn Keeper Seminars". We enjoyed attending one several years ago. Most are hosted by very knowledgeable folks...and I recommend them. However, they are usually in the real estate business as well. We are not. Our focus will be on what is really best for you. There are business advisers and there are brokers...we are advisers.

"Bill provides a comprehensive and insightful workshop for those seriously interested in becoming Innkeepers, based on over a decade of personal experience. His knowledge is thorough, delivered in an organized but relaxed manner, and the practical tips and advice are priceless! Don't miss it!"
